Systems Xcellence Signs Multi-Million Dollar Deal with South African Pharmacy Benefit Management Company
MILTON, Ontario (June 24, 1999) -- Systems Xcellence Inc. (TSE: SXC), a leading supplier of patient-centric
electronic transaction processing software for the healthcare information technology industry, announced today
that they have licensed their flagship product, HX-PBS, to Central Network Communications Inc. ("CNC")
and its South African subsidiary, Transaction Assist PTY Ltd. ("TAPL").
The licensed software will enable Transaction Assist to process pharmacy claims and payments electronically in
real time, thus reducing the chance of errors and the time and costs associated with paper-based systems. The
Systems Xcellence products and services, coupled with CNC and Transaction Assist's vision and understanding
of the cultural and business climate in South Africa, will allow all three organizations to play a significant
role in the evolution and future development of a pharmacy benefits management industry in South
