Systems Xcellence to Provide Pharmacy Benefits Management Software to Large U.S. Based Claims Processor

MILTON, Ontario (February 8, 2000) -- Systems Xcellence Inc., (TSE:SXC) announced today that it has signed a multi-million dollar contract with a large U.S. based claims processing organization to provide its HX-PBS Pharmacy Benefits System, part of their Healthcare Xcellence (HX) suite of products and associated professional services. Based on the ongoing success of the partnership, Systems Xcellence will be in a position to recognize and benefit from incremental revenue as a result of increased transaction volumes. For competitive reasons, the name and value of the contract cannot be disclosed at this time.

Systems Xcellence’s flagship product, HX-PBS is a full-service system for the administration of pharmaceutical benefits, typically geared towards managed care organizations, health insurance companies, and pharmacy benefits management companies. The system allows the customer to manage pharmaceutical benefits in a multi-functional patient-centric application.
