Systems Xcellence Signs $2.2 Million Contract Extension with U.S.-Based Health Claims Processor

MILTON, Ontario (September 13, 2000) - Systems Xcellence Inc., (TSE: SXC) announced today that it has received a $2.2 million CDN extension, to a previously announced contract, with a large US-based health benefits claims processing organization. The extension brings the total contracted amount to approximately $6.4 million CDN, exclusive of future transaction-based fees. The original contract, announced on February 8, 2000, licensed Systems Xcellence's flagship Pharmacy Benefit System software (HX-PBS), and provides the Company with recurring revenue opportunities as the customer's transaction volumes increase.
