Systems Xcellence Announces Management Change

MILTON, Ontario (October 27, 2000) -- Systems Xcellence Inc. (TSE: SXC) announced today that James A. Ryan would be resigning as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of the Company effective November 16, 2000. Mr. Ryan has accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer for Procuron Inc., an eProcurement company formed through the combined efforts of Bell Canada, CIBC, Scotiabank, Mouvement des caisses Desjardins and BCE Emergis. Mr. Ryan will continue as a member of the Systems Xcellence's Board of Directors and will be retained on an ongoing basis as a consultant to the Company. A search for Mr. Ryan's replacement has been initiated.

Systems Xcellence also announced today that Gail Gleed will act as Interim Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Gleed has been with the Company for the past five years and is currently the Corporate Controller.
