Systems Xcellence Announces the Release of its New
Integrated Payment and Billing System for Healthcare Benefit Management
Organizations
MILTON, Ontario (February 29, 2000) -- Systems Xcellence Inc., (TSE:
SXC) announced today the general availability of its new integrated Billing and Payment application.
The Billing and Payment (HX-B&P) system is a
software application that acts as a bridge between SX's health benefits
systems and the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM's) organization's
selected accounting package. The function of the HX-B&P system is to
provide reporting and fiscal management at the claim level while providing
summarized data electronically to standard accounts receivable and
accounts payable systems. The two systems support each other in providing
robust, full functionality not generally found in standard accounting
systems.
The Billing module supports the flexibility to bill
claims, administer claim service fees by transaction type and non-claim
related fees for services such as eligibility maintenance, card
production, prior authorization, reports and report regeneration. The
system's Payment module offers the tools to manage and report the stream
of claims payment. This product offers both timely and cost-effective
reimbursement to providers and patients for the costs of healthcare
services, subsequently maintaining satisfied suppliers and customers.
The HX-B&P system can be delivered as a fully
integrated component of SX's Pharmacy Benefit Management system and is
the latest step in the Company's commitment to building new products for
its healthcare customers.
