SYSTEMS XCELLENCE COMPLETES STRONGEST FIRST QUARTER FOR NEW BUSINESS WINS

Three New Contracts Boost Backlog to Record $35 Million

MILTON, Ontario (June 20, 2000) -- Systems Xcellence Inc., (TSE:SXC) announced today that through the first quarter of fiscal 2001 ending May 31, 2000, the Company had closed three significant new contracts for license and maintenance revenues totaling $25.6 million. As a result of these new contracts, the Company entered the second quarter with a record contracted order backlog of approximately $35 million.

The new business wins include:

  • A contract to develop an Online Web-Based Member Eligibility Verification solution for PlanetRx.com, a leading U.S. full-service online pharmacy and Internet healthcare portal.

  • An agreement to provide a pharmacy claim pre-adjudication application to a major U.S. pharmacy chain.

  • An additional sale of the HX-PBS solution, combined with consulting and development services, to First Health Services Corporation, a leading healthcare management, administration and information services provider for government funded health benefit programs in the United States.
