SYSTEMS XCELLENCE IMPLEMENTS RxCLAIM® PHARMACY BENEFITS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AT LARGE REGIONAL HEALTH PLAN

MILTON, ON, May 24, 2002 -- Systems Xcellence, Inc. ("SXC" or "the Company") (TSX: SXC) a leading provider of healthcare information technology solutions throughout the pharmaceutical benefits supply chain, today announced the successful implementation of its pharmacy benefits management and claims processing system (RxCLAIM®) at a large U.S. regional health plan ("the Health Plan").

In a US$1,750,000 software license and services agreement that was announced on September 19, 2001, the Health Plan selected SXC to provide its claims processing system (RxCLAIM®) as well as consulting, development services and maintenance, to manage the prescription drug benefit processing for the Health Plan's 2.1 million members.
